Anthony Brienza is a 2019 SS/OF with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Morganville, NJ who attends Marlboro. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.16 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with smooth, athletic footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while working through the baseball, generated good momentum towards the bag. Primarily released from a three-quarters arm slot but flashed the ability to throw with accuracy while on the run with varying arm slots. Right handed hitter with an upright, narrow stance. Moves into and transfers weight through contact well. Barrel comes through the zone on a line drive plane with present bat speed at contact. Controlled the barrel well throughout the zone with the ability to manipulate bat head and works to all fields. Good student as well.
