Cian Sahler is a 2021 OF/LHP/1B with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Olney, MD who attends Georgetown Preparatory. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary outfielder, long strides moving towards the ball and shows athleticism to actions, fields the ball out front, generates momentum with lower half and shows a full arm action leading to release, arm strength on throws will continue to develop with physical strength. Also pitched, short side step moving into delivery with high leg lift up past belt with a slight hip turn at top. Short stride down the mound showing a fuller arm action through the back and an extended three-quarters release. Fastball topped out at 69 mph, shows running life on pitch due to release point and mixed secondaries well, including a changeup at 64 mph with nice fading life down in the zone. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Uses a leg lift trigger for timing at start of swing and incorporates hands well. Contact oriented approach, occasionally gets to front side early but stays short to the ball and looks to hit the ball out front with quickness through the zone and shows an ability to use all fields. Very good student.
