Nathan Chester is a 2020 2B/3B/SS with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Liberty, MO who attends Liberty North HS. Medium, athletic frame with present strength throughout frame, proportioned well with broadness to shoulders. Primary second baseman, fields the ball out front, shows quickness and balance to footwork on the pivot, short and compact arm action with arm strength that will continues to develop, higher slot on throws and shows ability to drop slot, very quick transfer out of the glove. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Full swing path through the zone and does a nice job of creating extension out front with backspin coming off the barrel. Shows looseness and fluidity to swing, shifts weight well and shows carry off the barrel when squared; projects with additional strength to frame. Excellent student.
