Carson Kelly is a 2021 RHP/SS with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Sanford, NC who attends Lee County HS. Recorded a 7.41 second 60-yard dash time. Lean and athletic frame with good physical projection to the frame. Primary righthanded pitcher with a full arm action through the back and good arm speed. Low effort release with good sink on the fastball that topped out at 87 mph. Shorter breaking ball with some tilt to it. Over the top arm slot and will lower slot regularly with intent. Throws a bunch of different looks with a sidearm slot mixed in too. Super funky and deceptive with a very athletic delivery. Works quickly and throws a ton of strikes. Generated a good amount of ground balls and weak contact. Secondary infielder with a lower arm slot. Controls body well with the arm and hands working well. Accurate from both sides. Righthanded hitter with a wide base, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Longer barrel path with fluidity to the barrel head. Creates some leverage out in front. Good bat speed with a steeper entry and has a chance to hit for power as he fills out. Good student. Verbal commitment to North Carolina State.
