Jacob Ciccone is a 2019 LHP with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Monmouth Junction, NJ who attends South Brunswick High School. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Primary lefthanded pitcher, simple side step moving into delivery with big hip turn at top, up-tempo delivery, worked out of the stretch. Throws from an extended three-quarters arm slot, able to creates some deception to release, opens front side early but stays on top of fastball and creates steady running life to fastball while topping out at 83 mph. Consistent life when down in the zone. Advanced feel for changeup and thrown for lots of strikes, maintains slot and shows nice diving life at 74 mph. Mixed changeup well and flashed a short sweeping 2-8 shaped breaking ball at 72 mph, elicited weak contact by mixing three pitches. Tighter arm action at first base, solid footwork coming off the bag, gains momentum with lower half, accurate to intended base. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a medium hand set in the box. Keeps hands inside throughout swing,occasionally gets to front side early, steadily worked the pull side, projects with additional weight shift through lower half. Named to Northeast Indoor-NJ Top Prospect List. Very good student.
