James Cardinale is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Commack, NY who attends Commack High School. Large, athletic frame with a high waist, long limbs, and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, looseness and athleticism to delivery and incorporates lower half well with on line stride. Works to a three-quarters arm slot and filled up the strike zone with fastball that topped at 81 mph with nice running life to arm side. Feel for 1-7 curveball, occasional slurve actions but good shape and sharpness when on top. Quality changeup at 75 mph with fading life, comes out of hand clean. Mixes comfortably and elicits weak contact. Similar quick arm from the outfield, comes out clean with a full arm action, quick arm, shows some effort at release. Two-way potential, handled the barrel well from the left side, begins with an open stance and gets closed with long stride at start. High hands and back elbow, line drive swing plane with contact to all fields and shows quickness to hands. Repeats swing and does so with balance, shows a feel in the box with tools all around that project well with physical strength. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
