Ben Delaubell is a 2018 RHP/3B, SS with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Cheshire, CT who attends Cheshire. Large frame with broad shoulders and solid build throughout body; still projects well on body moving forward. Primary pitcher, shows low-effort, shorter arm action to 3/4 slot, balanced delivery and gets downhill well, rotates hips well and lands online, good extension at release. FB worked 79-82 with solid downhill plane and good run to arm side, worked bottom of zone with FB well. CB shows 11/5 shape with quality depth; flashed CH that stayed up in the zone but had quality action and deception. Hits from upright stance and high hand set, good load, smaller stride into contact, drilled opposite field ground rule double in game, smooth stroke with natural loft and excellent jump off the barrel, made consistently hard, driven contact to all fields. Shows good actions in the IF, moving to the ball well and showing solid range; fields cleanly and transfers quickly to throwing hand, gets off firm, accurate throws across the diamond with IF velocity up to 82 MPH. Named to 2015 Northeast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
