Justin Grech is a 2020 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Southlake, TX who attends Southlake Carroll. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to grow and develop moving forward. Primary outfielder, shows quickness to actions with short steps, fields the ball out front and has a quick and loose arm stroke in the back, works on top of throws and shows accuracy to intended base, can continue to incorporate additional footwork through release. Also pitched, short and quick arm action through the backside working to a three-quarters release point. Creates angle on fastball and did a nice job of working down in the zone; induced weak contact and mixed three pitches for strikes. Gets fastball to glove side and shows short sinking life; changeup has fading life to arm side and mixed a slider with tilting action. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and gets closed moving into contact. Upper body dominant swing, keeps hands inside throughout swing, utilizes a contact oriented approach and stays linear through the zone, handles the barrel and creates extnesion out front. Occasionally gets uphill with swing path, shows comfort going to the opposite field in game action, projects with additional strength. Excellent student.
