Tristan McDonough is a 2018 RHP/SS with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Whaleyville, MD who attends Stephen Decatur HS. Medium athletic build with good present strength. Up tempo delivery with a spine tilt and over the top arm slot, not consistent yet in his direction or arm timing. Mid to upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph early, mostly straight with good plane down in the zone. Soft curveball with occasional 12/6 depth. 7.10 runner, moves well at shortstop and plays with lots of energy, good footwork, very strong arm. Right handed hitter, high hand load with a bent knee stance, exaggerated inside hand path, mid to opposite field contact. Good athlete with young present skills. Good student, verbal commitment to Miami.
