Theodore Sparks is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Woodbury, NJ who attends Woodbury High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and physical strength throughout well proportioned build. Ran a 5.24 40-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes short steps moving to the ball, features a short and quick arm action through the back with a quick transfer and release to produce big arm strength at present, shows big carry out of hand when on top of the ball. Also pitched, starts with a high leg lift up past belt, similar short and quick arm action through the back working to a three-quarters arm slot. Simple delivery and hides the ball through the back well, fastball topped at 83 mph and came out of hand cleanly to the bottom of the zone. Induces weak ground ball contact and shows short depth to 11-5 curveball, has feel for the pitch. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance in the box with a long stride moving into contact. Sound swing path with very good extension out front, incorporates physical strength into swing and shows jump off the barrel when squared. Line drive swing plane with a full swing through the zone, can work the middle and opposite parts of the field. Named to Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List. Good student.
