KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Morning Session
Ashlyn Gaughan is a 5'6, class of 2024 SS/2B from Olathe, KS who attends Olathe Northwest HS. Ashlyn is a noticeably gifted and athletic player. She posted a plus average 3.23 20-yard dash time, with a blazing 1.10 5-yard burst split. A primary middle infielder, Ashlyn shows quick feet which allow her to position easily and confidently. Her glove plays and her 52-mph throws show sound arm strength. Her throws are highly accurate. At the plate, this RHH shows a routine ability to bunt the ball. Her emerging offensive game is based in an operation that shows promise. When on time and on plane, she can strike the ball. There is an element present that says her offensive game will continue to evolve and power will come as she gains physical maturity and strength. Ashlyn has a solid foundation that will certainly be enhanced as she moves up in competition. She is ready for the next step in her career and should she continue to progress, she should have the opportunity to play at the college level.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
