Mariano Gonzalez is a 2027 OF/LHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Fairfield, CA who attends Vanden. Features a lean build with athleticism present. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder. Showcases an aggressive approach, creating momentum through the catchpoint. Pulls down with intent using a longer arm action release. Reached 82 mph during workouts. Left-handed hitter. Utilizes a wide base stance with active hands and big leg kick timing mechanism. Swings with intent. Quick hand speed allows the bat head to get out front and do damage to the pullside. Power will show up more consistently as timing is refined. Left-handed pitcher. Utilizes a semi-windup delivery into drop and drive mechanics. Gets down the mound with intent. Throws from a low 3/4 slot with quick arm speed present. Fastball sat 82-85 mph, topping out at 87 mph. Can overwhelm hitters when in the zone. Slider at 68-70 mph shows quality sweeping action. Curveball at 62-64 mph featured more downward action with depth. Also flashes a fading changeup at 75-77 mph. Will mix pitches well and keep hitters off balance. Excellent student. Named to the 13u/14u Northern California Prospect Showcase Top Prospects List.
