Ryan Shaw is a 2030 C/2B/RHP with a 5-6 110 lb. frame from Missouri City, TX who attends Ridge Point. Young and lean build. 8.34 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up low and side saddle, is quick coming out of his crouch, clean and well coached transfer, mechanics will work as he grows and his arm strength improves. Also worked out in the infield but is much better suited for catching at present. Right handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a short stride into contact, has a short swing and handled the barrel well, best when staying behind the ball to the middle of the field and not turning the barrel. Took a turn on the mound, worked from the stretch with a chest high hand set, threw strikes with a low 60's fastball and had some feel for repeating his release and arm speed on a curveball.
