Jared Denham is a 2008 OF with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Antioch CA, who attends Deer Valley HS. Selected as a Top Prospect at this event. Denham is the younger brothe of Indians' prospects Daniel (RHP) and Jason Denham (OF). He has a lean, athletic body type and is still getting stronger. There is room for him to fill out in the coming years and he should be able to retain his speed. Offensively he has a quick bat and a short stroke that has some life to it, suggesting some power in the coming years. He is aggressive and keeps his hands inside the ball, and is still able to keep the barrel in the strike zone. Denham stays back on the breaking ball well and was consistently on-time to the contact point. He is also a capable base stealer. In the field he has a chance to stay in centerfield. His arm is good and will get a bit stronger. He approaches the ball well and shows good instincts in the field. College should keep a close eye on him as he is an outstanding student and has a chance to blossom into a star at the college level.
