Austin Wiggins is a 2009 RHP/OF with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Antioch CA, who attends Deer Valley HS. He has an average frame and a lean, athletic body type. Wiggins has a nice future on the mound as a college prospect. He displayed good feel for the baseball and posseses a sound, repeatable delivery, utilizing his whole body. His arm speed suggests that he is not far from making the leap into the mid-80s, possibly by the end of this spring (07). Wiggins has the ability to pitch with his fastball and is a quality strike thrower. At higher intensity levels there was some cut action on his fastball. His best pitch is his curveball, which has tight spin and late downward action. He also throws his change-up with good hand speed. With a quality three-pitch mix and understanding of how to pitch, Wiggins will be a quality college pitcher. At the plate he displayed an inside-out, line drive swing.
