Fernando Diaz is a 2023 RHP/ with a 6-3 204 lb. frame from Santa Isabel, PR who attends Reborn Christian Academy. Large, high waisted frame with well-proportioned strength throughout. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with slight coil into a belt high leg lift and good stride length out to foot strike. Incorporates lower half exceptionally well down the slope and repeats his mechanics effortlessly. Fastball worked mostly in the low-80s and topped out at 83 mph from a higher three-quarters arm slot. Showed developing command of the strike zone with two-pitch mix, navigates all four quadrants of the strike zone with his fastball and mixed in short 11-5 shaped curveball with some depth and bite. Will need to develop third offering and refine command, while gaining more velocity to improve overall repertoire. Excellent Student.
