PG Grade: 8
Jacob Brown is a 2008 RHP/1B with a 6'2'', 187 lb. frame from Gig Harbor WA, who attends Gig Harbor HS. He has a strong build, with broad shoulders. Brown has the frame of a young power pitcher and should continue to fill out a bit more. He has a lively, strong arm that is pretty loose and works easily. He also incorporates his lower body into his fluid delivery. Brown's fastball can ride a bit and consistently had life on it. He topped at 85 mph and sat 82-84. Expect a spike in velocity in the summer of 2007. He also showed feel of a nice curveball that had good spin and late action. His stuff should keep coming on. At the plate Brown swings the bat aggressively and made some good barrel contact, employing a pull approach. He has some pop. His future in college would appear to be on the mound.
