Josh Coffman is a 2008 RHP/SS with a 6'0'', 157 lb. frame from Stevenson, Alabama, who attends North Jackson High School. Coffman has a lean and projectable frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with solid arm speed. There is effort in his delivery with head movement. His fastball topped out at 75 mph with arm side movement and he will throw the pitch for strikes. Coffman gets good spin on his curveball at 65 mph, but still lacks bite. He mixes all of his pitches, and he will lead off a hitter with his curveball. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from an upright stance with a toe tap trigger. He loads his hands well from a high set, but gets them in proper hitting position. He has solid bat speed and shows projectable power that will continue to improve as he incorporates more of his lower body in his swing. It appears he really likes the ball on the inner half. Coffman is also a good student.
