Eddie Thompson is a 2021 LHP/1B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Cary, NC who attends Athens Drive. Taller frame with a wiry and long build that will fill out well. Ran a 7.35 in the sixty yard dash. A primary pitcher, uses a synched up and fluid wind up with a high leg lift and good tempo. Moved the fastball around the zone well releasing from an over the top slot. Spins the curveball hard and the pitch showed consistent depth, flashed a changeup as a third offering. Solid pitchability and upside. Worked out in both the outfield and at first base. Good athlete with developing actions at both, the arm proved accurate and he has softer hands. A left-handed hitter, starts narrow and linear loading down while also working his path down to the ball. Stays linear with his base throughout and uses his hands to throw the barrel. Opposite field, line drive approach. Very good student.
