Julian Vazquez is a 2022 OF/ with a 5-7 170 lb. frame from Santa Ana, CA who attends Mater Dei HS. Julian is a medium framed, strong and athletic player who shows solid, projectable ability. In addition to his talent on the field, Julian is also an accomplished student. He ran a 7.30 60 yard dash. A primary outfielder, Julian shows an advanced ability and feel for the position. His quick feet allow him to position confidently. He plays through the fielding action well and his glovework is sound. He is quick to transition and his 78 mph throwing velocity allows his throws to be firm and true. Solid round in the OF. At the plate, Julian really gets into his legs with his lower half load. His quick trigger and flatter bat path allow him to contact the baseball with noticeable and consistent force. There is a mature whip to his swing operation. He has a plus feel for the barrel and shows solid gap to gap pop. He flashed some raw power that could and should develop more as he plays through his last two years of HS ball. There is a lot to like about Julian's game. He has a mature presence and shows the fundamental ability that will allow him to continue to improve. It is very obvious that baseball is important to this young and upcoming player. Great things are on the horizon for Julian.
