Jack Boyd is a 2024 1B/LHP with a 6-8 320 lb. frame from Brandon, MS who attends Brandon. Recorded a 8.31 second 60 yard dash time. Extra large frame. Primary first baseman that throws from the ear with a short arm action. Developing lateral movement and footwork. Showed a clean glove during his round. Left-handed hitter with a rotational swing and long path. Wrapped barrel to start, short leg lift trigger. Takes high intent swings at the plate. The build could translate into serious power potential. Will see bat speed improve as he frees up the hands and lets the barrel work behind him. Secondary left-handed pitcher with a small side step and belt high leg lift. Restricted arm action with three-quarters release and low effort delivery. Has the tendency to drop the elbow, could work on getting on top of the ball. Works the arm side consistently and shows some arm side run. Developing extension out front. Great student.
