Luis Rujano is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Sunshine State Elite Academy. Long and lean athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Long and easy arm action, loose and tension free out front, has good lower half direction through release, has made significant improvements in his mechanics and ability to repeat over the last year. Fastball worked in the 90-93 mph range this outing, was up to 95-96 mph last summer and will be again this spring, gets nice run and sink on his fastball that gets off and under barrels, filled up the strike zone with fastball strikes. Change up is a quality second pitch, gets occasional big diving action on the pitch. Slider spin has improved notably along with his ability to land the pitch consistently for strikes, best when thrown at the upper end of its velocity scale. Consistent improvement over the last year points to impressive aptitude, no reason to believe he won't keep improving, especially with his slider. Good student, signed with South Florida.
