2005 Spring Top Prospect
Raisch is a 6-4, 240 lb senior right handed pitcher from Iowa with an extra big and strong frame. He throws from a deliberate delivery with a high leg raise and an overhand release point. Raisch does a good job staying on line in his delivery and maintaining his balance and repeating his release point. His arm works smoothly, with a short arm circle in back and a bit of palm up action that he works through well. With his size and delivery, Raisch gets nice downhill plane to the plate on his pitches. His fastball topped out at 87 mph at the showcase and he did a good job spotting this pitch. Raisch’s breaking ball was a 72-75 mph slider with a short downer break and he threw some good ones that had the batters reaching for the ball. Raisch is a very good student who can definitely pitch at the Division 1 level but has not signed yet as far as we know.
