Dylan Craparo is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Stormville, NY who attends Carmel. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean build and plenty of room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.09 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, simple delivery with a belt high leg lift, works to a high three-quarters release point and is able to t generate plenty of natural running life to fastball, topped out at 73 mph. Works around the zone and mixes well, tends to slow arm on release of curveball, short depth up to 59 mph with 1-7 shape. Gets ground ball contact off the bat. Fields the ball close to body in the outfield, extra steps moving through release, shorter arm action working to a similar release point, projects with additional lower half in actions. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Shorter swing through the zone, carries hands low throughout swing. Utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing at the plate, looks to pull the ball at contact, occasionally opens front side early in swing. Good student.
