Phoenix Madsen is a 2024 SS/RHP, OF with a 6-2 155 lb. frame from Surprise, AZ who attends Shadow Ridge. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, projects well moving forward. Ran a 7.39 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, young actions moving towards the ball, fields it out front, longer arm action through the back, ball comes out cleanly across the diamond, will continue to refine footwork. Also pitched, shorter arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point, opens early coming down the mound which creates cut action on the fastball, topped out at 80 mph. Filled the zone and missed bats, curveball will continue to develop, shows 11-5 shape with short life. Righthanded hitter, begins with a tall and narrow stance at the plate with a lower hand set. Gets wide with base through load, limited shift through lower half, works with a linear plane through the zone. Bat speed will continue to develop with added strength, swings with intent, long finish through point of contact.
