Manato Tateno is a 2020 3B/ with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Ota, TK who is an international free agent. Developing athletic build with plenty of room to fill as he progresses. Primary third baseman, possesses quick feet that work through the baseball well. Strong arm across the diamond, was gunned at 89 mph across. Glove work is solid, funnels well, footwork allows him to make plays into either hole. All around good feel for the position. On the mound, works exclusively out of the stretch with a free and easy arm action that has some quickness. High leg lift coils closed slightly at his apex. Works linear down the mound. 79-83 mph fastball possesses arm side run and sink and has the ability to get in on hitter's hands. Low 11-to-5 curveball has a slurve like feel and can be a swing and miss pitch. At the plate, uses an even stance with a higher hand set. Quiet load, hands work quickly down through he zone and stay direct to the ball. Couple of toe tap triggers, still developing a linear weight shift to efficiently use his leverage.
