2006 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Stephen Andrews is a 2007 OF/C from Mount Tabor HS in Winston Salem, NC with a 5'10", 165 lb. frame. Stephen has a lean athletic build and showed good arm strength in the outfield (84) and behind the plate. (74) At the plate Stephen has good present strength in his swing and really knows how to use his hands. Stephen does a good job of getting his hips through the zone and is able to produce easy lift in his swing. As he fills out his frame he will only improve on his present ability at the plate. Defensively Stephen was one of the best defensive outfielders at the showcase. He moves well to the ball (7.40) with good actions and is able to maintain good balance on all of his plays. Behind the plate Stephen is more of a raw prospect. He has a long release, but makes up for it with his arm strength. Stephen looks to be a solid mid-level Division I College player.
