Robert "Alex" Mendoza is a 2022 C/RHP, 1B, 3B, OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Oak Hills, CA who attends Oak Hills. Large build with present physicality. Primary catcher, sets up in a conventional crouch, stands up out of his crouch to throw. Replaces feet well, arm strength will drastically improve as his throwing motion matures. Posted a 2.27 second pop time down to second base in the catching workout. At first base, very aggressive with his reads off the bat. Fields out in front, makes accurate throws to all bags. At the plate, uses a conventional upright stance with a toe tap trigger. At his best when working through the middle of the field. Some good pop to his pull side gap.
