Lorenzo is a slender 6-0, 150 left handed junior outfielder from Miami with good body life and a projectable athletic build . He ran the 60 in 7.16 and showed very good arm strength from the outfield for his age by throwing 84. During games Lorenzo showed us very good range in the outfield and made one of the best defensive plays of the event going deep to catch a fly ball. He also played some first base and threw 80 as a first baseman. Lorenzo hits out of a tall stance at the plate with whippy bat speed. He looks to pull the ball and will hit around the ball occasionally but generally makes very solid contact. He had a couple of hits in the game and took a very good batting practice. Lorenzo should continue to develop as a hitter as he adds strength. Lorenzo also filled for 3 innings of relief on the mound. He showed solid pitching mechanics and an ability to spot the ball down in the zone well but didn’t duplicate the arm strength he showed from the outfield.. Lorenzo’s fastball was 72-74 mph and he had a 61-65 mph curveball and mid-60’s change up.
