Maximus Ramirez is a 2023 SS/2B/3B with a 5-5 145 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Spring. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.73 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, athletic mover in the dirt and shows quickness to feet, fields it out front and hands play at the ball, shows carry on throws across the diamond and maintains energy in actions with sound movements to either side. Also pitched, short and compact delivery on the mound with quickness and an up-tempo pace; fastball topped out at 78 mph with some sink from a high three-quarters release point, mixed a curveball that showed sharp, late break up to 64 mph, pitched to some contact. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even stance and balanced base in the box; utilizes a toe tap turn for timing at the plate. Longer swing path through the zone, shows quickness to stroke and comfort working to the pull side. Quiet hands, occasionally gets downward with path, connected for line drive contact back up the middle, gets inconsistent with timing. Good student.
