2020 Gulf Coast Prospect Showcase
Christopher Watson is a 2022 1B/3B, OF with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Ridgeland, MS who attends St. Joseph Catholic. He ran a 7.00 second sixty. A primary first baseman with a large frame showing broad shoulders with some physicality in the build. At first base he showed some feel for the glove with developing footwork on the double play turns as he gets off balance at times, he showed a full arm action with enough arm strength to make all the throws to both second and third base. From the right side of the plate his swing starts with an open stance and leg lift trigger, he showed speed in the hands with easy pop from the middle of the field to the pull side with lift in the bat path, the swing translated to the game with a ball off the left field wall. Very good student.
