Ezra Moore is a 2023 SS/2B, 3B with a 5-5 135 lb. frame from Oak Park, IL who is home schooled. Young, square shouldered frame, has present strength to lower half and additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary middle infielder, fields it out front and hands play at the ball, comes through the backhand nicely, showed a smooth funnel on the charge, gets on the side of ball at release occasionally, arm strength will continue to throw, shows accuracy when on top, will continue to refine. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Upper body dominant swing, simple set up, stays short to the ball with hands and has a long finish through the ball. Looks to pull at point of contact, remains linear through the zone, can incorporate additional weight shift through lower half moving into swing. Good student.
