Daniel Aguirre III is a 2024 C/RHP, 1B, 3B, OF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Bakersfield, CA who attends Bakersfield Christian. Medium build with plenty of room to fill out as he continues to develop. Primary catcher, sets up in a conventional crouch, stays compact out of it. Crisp and quick motions, accurate throws down to the second base bag. Shows good feel for his glove work, posted a 2.06 second pop time in the catching workout. On the mound, has a short arm action from a high three-quarters slot. Set hands come up in sync with his leg lift before separating. Will fall off the mound to his glove side through his finish down the mound. Fastball up to 73 mph, mixes in an 11-to-5 shaped curveball with good depth to the plate. Also throws a 53 mph knuckleball with developing dancing actions to the plate. At the plate, uses an open and upright stance with a toe tap trigger back to even. Flat through the zone, still understanding his rhythm and timing with the pitcher. Middle to pull side approach, at his best when working his hands inside the baseball. Excellent student in the classroom as well.
