Giovanni Melchione is a 2023 C/OF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Desert Ridge. Big and strong physical catcher's build. Fundamentally sound defensive skills behind the plate, repeats his footwork and throwing release well, makes accurate throws, will continue to improve defensively with continued hard work on his lower half quickness and agility. Right handed hitter, has a big lower half shift into contact, has a long and strong swing with full extension through contact, works the middle of the field with line drive contact.
