Alberto Medina is a 2024 RHP/C, 1B, 3B, SS with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Delray Beach, FL who attends St. John Paul II. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.83 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, rock step at start moving into a compact set of mechanics on the mound with coil at top of belt high leg lift. Clean take away into a long arm action, works to a high three-quarters release point; did a nice job of working down in the zone and attacking hitters, topped out at 72 mph, worked to either corner and able to induce weak contact. Also mixed a curveball at 56 mph. Gets low approaching the ball in the infield, ball comes out of hand well and shows carry to throws, shorter arm stroke, will continue to refine overall footwork. Righthanded hitter, begins with a tall and narrow stance with a high and relaxed hand set. Strides into contact well, occasionally gets to front side early, works on a mostly linear plane and shows quickness through the zone. Creates strength at point of impact when squared, covers the plate well. Excellent student.
