Jacob Smith is a 2021 LHP with a 6-0 130 lb. frame from Bradenton, FL who attends IMG Academy. Recorded a 7.87 second 60-yard dash time. Very lean and wiry frame with tons of room to fill out and add strength. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a longer arm stroke and gets extension out in front. Shows arm side run and sink on the fastball that topped out at 70 mph. Throws strikes well and works best to the lower third of the strike zone. Slower over the top curveball with some depth to it and flashed a changeup. Projects with additional strength. Arm strength recorded up to 74 mph from secondary position of outfield. Righthanded hitter with a straight stance, downhill swing plane, and a simple approach. Works to all fields and has some contact skills with present gap to gap power. Good student.
