Nathan Nichols is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Lenexa, KS who attends Rockhurst. Big young build with lots of strength potential. Works from the stretch with a multi-part delivery high energy delivery, tends to fall off to the first base side with his front side, deep arm action in back coming to an over the top arm slot. Upper 70' fastball, topped out at 82 mph early, gets good fastball angle down in the zone but misses often glove side due to his front side direction. Inconsistent release point on his breaking ball, will throw pitches with both slider and curveball shape, best breaking balls are at the lower velocities with a 11/5 curveball shape. 7.66 runner in the sixty. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a pull and lift approach, looking to drive the ball. Very good student.
