Justin Higgins is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from New Canaan, CT who attends St. Luke's. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front, smooth actions going up the middle with a clean funnel and release, works through the ball well, longer strides once underway, short arm action with a tight release and shows present strength across, maintained balance on the charge. Right-handed hitter, begins with a spread stance and utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Stays short to the ball and does a nice job of repeating swing, creates some separation out front with a linear path through the zone. Steady barrel contact to the middle and pull side parts of field, projects nicely with added strength. Excellent student.
