Charles Williams Jr. is a 2023 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 225 lb. frame from Riverview, FL who attends Tampa Catholic. Recorded a 8.24 second sixty-yard dash time. Large, physical frame with well-proportioned strength throughout. Primary first baseman with anticipatory footwork into the fielding process, displaying a deeper funnel to field and deliberate turns around the bag. Shows relatively soft hands to field with accurate arm across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 76 mph during defensive drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher with fairly simple delivery, while displaying the ability to repeat well and stay online down the slope. Incorporated a small side-step rocker into a slightly above the belt leg lift, driving down the mound with good lower half movements and good extension out in front. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 75 mph in this look from a three-quarters arm slot. Showed ability to command both sides of the plate effectively, throwing plenty of strikes and working all four quadrants with his fastball. Mixed in 11-5 shaped curveball as his secondary, generating plenty of swings-and-misses with it when ahead in the count. Will continue to improve with additional velocity. Also, took part in the infield portion of the defensive workout, showing similar deliberate footwork into the fielding process and some lateral range to his glove side. Slightly elongated transfer process, while working into a three-quarters arm slot and recording arm strength up to 73 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from a simple, repeatable setup, showing good usage of his lower half and quickness to his hands. Fluid swing path with well-timed weight shift into contact and the ability to impact the baseball with authority to the gaps. Intent based swing with consistent bat-to-ball skills, barrel accuracy and power potential to all fields. Intriguing upside at the plate that will continue to expand as he matures. Will continue to improve defensively as he grows and physically matures.
