Johnny Garcia is a 2008 SS/3B with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX, who attends Reagan HS. Garcia has a medium frame with present strength. Defensively he has good actions with plus footwork and soft hands. He moves well in the middle infield with good range and body control. Garcia has solid arm strength at 81 mph with a quick release and is very accurate with his throws. He is an advanced defensive player who can handle the left side of the infield. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from slightly closed and crouched stance with a wide base. Garcia has good bat speed through the hitting zone, and takes an aggressive swing. He is a line drive hitter with gap power. Garcia has a good eye at the plate and fights off tough pitches. Garcia has very good upside to his all-around game and is a must follow.
