2021 Midwest Indoor Showcase
Dominik McVay is a 2022 OF/RHP, SS, MIF, IF, UT with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Mineral Point, WI who attends Mineral Point. Well-built prospect with plenty of projection. Great athlete, ran a 6.67 60-yard dash, showcasing elite speed. Showed really quick feet in the outfield with lots of quick-twitch to his game. Good footwork and gets himself into good position getting through the ball in the outfield and had a quick transfer getting the ball out, hitting the radar at 86 mph. Also showed he can compete on the mound, upping his FB to 84 with drop and drive mechanics and a short arm action. The FB moves a lot, and he also located a pair of breaking balls in the mid- to upper-70s. Also took an aggressive approach at the plate with some pop, looked to lift the baseball. Used good balance and extension, would get in trouble at times needing to stay back in the box. Quick hands and present bat speed, has the tools to really improve. Great student. Named to the 2021 Midwest Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
