Maximus Maldonado is a 2020 RHP/3B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends Fordham Preparatory. Athletic frame with beginnings of strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced on back side at gather. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated good downhill plane through the zone with sink and run to arm m side in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/5 shape with loose shape and good sweep to glove side in the low 60's. Also flashed a changeup offering that generated some sink in the mid 60's. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with off speed offerings. Consistently attacked the lower quadrants of the zone and induced weak contact. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth paced footwork while surrounding the baseball. Works through the baseball well and maintains momentum to the bag at transfer. Loose arm circle and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Throws generated accurate carry to the bag at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high back elbow set. Utilized a loose hand path to baseball with an uphill barrel plane. Looked to work to the middle of the field, but flashed the hand speed to turn the barrel and work to pull side as well. Excellent student.
