Curtis McMillin is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 5-8 120 lb. frame from Ripley, MS who attends Walnut. Compact frame with a lean build. Projects for additional strength with continued physical maturity. Primary left handed pitcher with a simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum to glove side. Fastball comes out of hand cleanly with some downhill tilt in the mid 60's to low 70's, topped at 71 miles per hour. Curveball had 2/7 shape with looser spin and some sweeping depth to glove side in the low 60's. Consistently filled the zone showing developing feel to the edges of the plate. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing aggressive lower half actions while closing to the baseball. Funnels out front and maintained momentum towards the bag while working through exchange. Released from a three-quarters slot producing on line carry to the bag at 81 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an even, balanced stance and large leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Clean hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Utilized a high contact approach while working to the middle of the field. Very good student as well.
