Alex Johnson is a 2021 C/OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Montgomery, AL who attends Edgewood Academy. Medium and stocky frame with some strength present especially in his lower half. Ran a 7.63 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, comes out of his crouch with a longer releases and clean transfer, plenty of arm strength into throws while staying downhill to second base, throws with intent and topped out at 80 mph from behind the plate, 2.00 best pop time. Secondary outfielder, carries momentum into throws with plenty of arm strength, topped out at 89 mph from the outfield. Also pitched, worked only from the stretch from a compact arm action, fastball shows good life and topped out at 84 mph, gets downhill while staying online to the plate. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a spread out and even stance, shifts weight into contact, stays compact with his stroke while creating good bat speed through the hitting zone.
