David Baker is a 2007 MIF with a 5'10'', 160 lb. frame from Hesperia, CA, who attends Hesperia HS. Baker has a medium frame with present strength. Defensively he is very smooth in the middle infield showing soft hands and nice footwork. He gets great jumps on every pitch with plus reactions. Also has good arm speed with solid arm strength across the diamond. He is smooth and easy making things look effortless. At the plate he is a right handed hitters who hits from a very open stance, but he closes off well at contact. Very good swing mechanics and took very good swings in game action. Baker has good hands to the ball, and generates good bat speed through the zone. Very quiet feet with no stride, and shows a good trigger. Baker takes an aggressive swing on balls in the strike zone, and battles during each at bat. He is a great defensive player with a good contact swing.
