Defensively, he has excellent feet behind the plate. He has good transfers on his throws to 2B and has quick hands. Grof is a good receiver and worked well with the pitchers in the games. He has quiet hands and body while catching and he has good arm strength. Grof is a very good defensive catcher. At the plate, Grof starts with a medium base and takes a long stride. He has high hands and uses a short load to start his swing. Grof uses a rhythm approach and has bat speed. Grof has present gap to gap pop with more power potential in there. He throws the bat head to the baseball and swings on a line drive path. Grof is also a very good student.
