Tyler Yancey is a 2021 SS with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Whitesboro, TX who attends Lindsay. Showed some present speed and athleticism, running a 7.03 second sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with a young frame that has room to fill and add strength. Rounds the ball well, with a clean funnel out front and consistent transition to throw. Has consistently clean glove actions, showing athletic actions and good range. Has developing arm strength, making accurate throws across the diamond at 77 miles per hour. Has an exaggerated, open stance at the plate, with a big shift in and good weight transfer to contact. Has a line drive barrel plane, making contact out front with present bat speed. Increased strength and size will continue to clean up some of the loud movements in the swing.
