John Kowalczyk is a 2021 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Chatham, NJ who attends Chatham. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.87 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, longer stride downhill, shows quickness to arm stroke, compact arm, throws from ear with deception, fastball worked in the 72-77 mph range and peaked at 78 mph. Showed curveball 11/5 shape with some depth; also mixed in straighter changeup. Line drive swing plane with whole-field approach when hitting, will unlock more power as he continues to get stronger, best power comes to pull side. Worked out defensively in the outfield, comes in on the ball well, quick and efficient transfer, arm strength clocked up to 74 mph. Very good student.
