Luke Brandau is a 2022 C/1B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from River Ridge, LA who attends Jesuit. Recorded a 7.81 second 60 yard dash time. Medium frame and lean build with room to fill. Primary catcher with a square stance and short arm action. Gets tall on the throw and has the tendency to reach for the ball. Recorded a 2.19 second pop time at 71 mph. Will see pop time improve as he stays low through release and lets the ball travel to receive deeper. Right-handed hitter with a straight stance and a high hand and elbow set. Rotational upper body swing with limited shift in the legs. Will see more carry as he coils into his back hip and uses the lower half more actively throughout the swing. Made consistent contact all round, spraying the ball to all fields. Contact-oriented approach with quick hands. Excellent student.
