Joseph Fagan is a 2023 C/RHP/IF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Summit, NJ who attends Summit. Medium, well-proportioned frame with some present lower half strength and room to fill out. Primary catcher that receives from a higher, side-saddled stance with segmented gloves actions, fairly quick footwork out of the crouch and direct mid-line transfer. Gains ground towards his target, works into a longer arm action to throw and recorded arm strength up to 76 mph from behind the plate during drills. Secondary infielder that works downhill into the fielding process, displays some lateral range to either side and carries some momentum into release. Recorded arm strength up to 75 mph across the diamond from a three-quarters arm slot. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly crouched, open base with an even hand set and high back elbow. Incorporates small leg lift for timing and rotational lower half mechanics to get the swing started, while exhibiting a downhill swing path. Whole field approach with best impact to the middle-of-the field, flashed some present hand speed and fairly consistent feel for the barrel. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments, minor refinements of his defensive skills and additional physical maturity. Excellent Student.
